Adirondack District

The Adirondack District, a 2011 Journey to Excellence External LinkSilver District, serves the communities of Clinton, Franklin, and Northern Essex counties. We have the pleasure of assisting Adirondack Scout leaders in providing a quality Scouting experience to over 950 youth in 45 Packs, Troops, Crews, and Posts.

Unit Assistance

If your Unit needs assistance or you have a Scouting question, there are many great resources available to help:

  • Contact Patrick Ryan, Twin Rivers Council's Unit Service Executive for the Adirondack District.  
  • Contact your Unit Commissioner.   If you don't know who your Unit Commissioner is, go to your Unit page (click here for a list of Units in the District) and click on Commissioner on the right side menu.
  • Contact Jerry Neff, our District Commissioner for the Adirondack District.      
  • Call the Council Service Center directly at 518-869-6436.

Communications

If you have an event, activity, or news item that would be of interest to Scouts or Scouters in the Adirondack District, let us help you get the word out. For general news items, contact Rafael Rivera. For events, meetings, and other calendar-related items, contact Rick Weerts. For assistance in emailing information to area Scout leaders, contact Cindy Nadon.

REGISTER NOW: 2012 Family Adventure Weekends at Camp Bedford!!!

COMPLETE REGISTRATION MATERIALS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! Twin Rivers Council will be offering two Family Adventure Weekends for Cub Scouts this summer at gorgeous Camp Bedford on July 21st-23rd and July 27th-29th. Over 50 Cub Scouts, joined by their families, had a blast at Camp Bedford in 2011, and we'd love to see you join us in 2012!

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skill Training at Camp Bedford June 8th-10th

Twin Rivers Council Adult leaders are invited to attend Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, a fun-filled program of hands-on skills training in the outdoors, designed to help master the basic camping skills required of Tenderfoot to First Class Scouts. This is required training for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters.

The next Adirondack District Roundtable for all Scout leaders is June 14th at Camp Bedford, starting at 7pm. This is a joint Roundtable for the entire District. CUB FAMILY ADVENTURE WEEKEND PLANNING MEETING WILL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW ROUNDTABLE.

How to be a Safe Scout Recently Added Content

The Adirondack District's Health and Safety and Risk Management Program features timely information on "How to be a Safe Scout" each month as a way to prompt unit leaders and district committee members to include the feature into their program.
