Kodiak Training

Kodiak Adventure Trek!

Kodiak is designed to be an adventure that pushes every participant to their limits — one that will encourage you to try new things that may be out of your comfort zone. It is an experience—but one that has its underpinnings in the application of the leadership skills learned in the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or Crews, National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and/or National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE). It is an adventure with a purpose.

Because Kodiak is grounded in experiential education, participants learn the skills of leadership as they take part in the various experiences that make up the Kodiak Trek. A Kodiak adventure can take place after experiencing the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or Crews, after taking part in NYLT, or after NAYLE. The growth in leadership depends on what the participant brings to the adventure. This experience is great for older and younger Scouts and Venturers; as they will simply have a different but equally rewarding experience. This is why Kodiak and the process of developing and implementing a vision can be done more than once.

Come out and enjoy two jam packed weekends of fun and adventure. On the first weekend we will be backpacking out of Camp Wakpominee, while on the second weekend we will be having a canoeing adventure!

Participants must be 14 years old and should have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (ILSC) or Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST).

The first weekend is September 6-8 and the second weekend is September 20-22, 2019. Participants must attend both weekends.
