New Training Opportunities Announced

Every Scout deserves a trained leader, and it's our responsibility to take advantage of the many training opportunities this fall to help ensure a great season for your Pack, Troop, Crew or Post.

Need Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills? It's being offered as an overnight April 26-27 at Camp Wakpominee for a fee of $35, which includes meals and materials. Space is limited, so don't wait.

Taking your Den or Pack on a camping adventure? Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation is required, or BALOO, as it's called, will be offered April 12-13, 2019, at Camp Wakpominee in Fort Ann. The fee for the overnight event is $20.

Fort Orange District has just added three new trainings, Den Leader Specific on April 9, Cubmaster on April 16 and Pack Committee on April 30, all evening courses at Sand Creek Middle School in Colonie. You don't need to be a member of Fort Orange District to sign up; choose a training that fits your time schedule.

Several important courses are being offered by Turning Point District in May: Cubmaster Training, Den Leader Specific Training, Scoutmaster Specific Training and Committee Challenge Training. All of the courses are set for Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Trinity United Methodist Church off of Northway Exit 11. Registration opens Feb. 1.

The links to the right lead to more information on training, and registration links will soon be added. Keep watching for additional training opportunities that may arise. Just pull down on the Volunteers tab on the Twin Rivers Council home page and scroll down to training. The page includes a full list of training events.

If you have any questions about training, contact Tim Williams, the Mohawk District Training Chairman.
