Mohawk District Recognition Dinner

Mohawk District Awards Dinner March 12

Mohawk District will honor its outstanding volunteers during the district's first Recognition Dinner on Tuesday, March 12, at the First Reformed Church of Scotia. We are also seeking nominations of Scouters deserving of various awards.

Chef Walt Pfuntner is whipping up a chicken dinner and tickets are $22.00 apiece. Registration is open through March 7.

District Awards of Merit will be among the many awards presented that night. Everyone from the district will be given the opportunity to nominate fellow Scouters for the various awards.

Our Awards Committee is calling for Nominations for the following Recognitions for 2018:

  • Unit Flint and Steel Awards – we all know that flint and steel is used for fire building, so this award recognizes 1 registered or unregistered volunteer from each of our 84 units who has demonstrated high energy, enthusiasm, and passion within your Pack, Troop, Crew, or Post. One nominee per unit; usually from the consensus of the unit KEY3; does not need approval/voting from the District Awards Committee; so submit now and arrange to get him/her and supporters from your unit to the Dinner to thank your Flint and Steel recipient (For the sake of your recipient, don’t be a NO-SHOW)
  • District Award of Merit - submitted in writing to Steve Miller: stephen@smgc-inc.comExternal Link
  • Cubmaster of the Year - the outstanding Cubmaster of the District for 2018 (should have 2 years’ experience as a registered Cubmaster)
  • Cub Scout Program Award – recognizing a leader who has spearheaded a particularly noteworthy program within a Pack
